Rebels don't make excuses to justify doing what they want.),作者為了使自己做好對LOOPHOLE的防範,做了十種大的分類:

  1. Moral Licensing Loophole:
  2. Tomorrow Loophole:
Spending an entire day watching TV doesn't make a person feel less like watching TV, or more like working, the next morning.
  3. False Choice Loophole
  4. Lack of control loophole:
  5. Arranging to Fail Loophole:
    1. we often plan to succumb:
  6. “This Doesn't Count”Loophole:
    1. Everything counts:
  7. Questionable Assumption Loophole:
  8. Concern for Others Loophole:
  9. Fake Self-Actualization Loophole:
    1. 偽裝成一種(豁達的)人生觀: e.g. you only live once---YOLO. 、I have to take advantage of this now or miss out forever.
    3. For most of us, the real aim isn't to enjoy a few pleasures right now, but to build habits that will make us happy over the long term. Sometimes, that means giving up something in the present, or demanding more from ourselves.
  10. “One-Coin” Loophole:
    2. The habit of the habit is more important than the habit itself.
  • A loophole is an argument for why we should be excused from following a good habit. If we recognize them, we can judge them and stop kidding ourselves.
  • By catching ourselves in the act of invoking a loophole, we give ourselves an opportunity to reject it, and stick to the habits that we want to foster.

NEW FOR ME:

  • ENTICE
